Senior Medicare Supplements
HMOs
Finally relief! Once you reach age 65 Uncle Sam subsidizes
most of your health insurance premium. You receive Medicare
A for free and that covers your hospitalization. Medicare B
is around $45.50 a month and it is deducted from your Social Security
check. Medicare B is for your doctor visits. However there are a lot
of gaps in coverage. To fill in those gaps one should purchase a Medicare
Supplement plan or sign up with an HMO. Medicare Supplement plans
will work with any doctors anywhere. But there is an additional cost
from $70 a month to $200 a month depending on the plan you choose.
HMOs are another option you can choose. The
cost is your $45.50 that they deduct from your Social Security check.
With an HMO you have low copays for office visits usually around $5
to $10 and unlimited generic prescription drugs. If your hospitalized
it is covered at 100% with no copay or deductible. You must choose a
Primary Care Physician. You always go to him or her unless there is
an emergency. Needless to say most seniors choose the HMO option. Of
course there are a lot of health insurance companies to choose
from. Let us assist you by calling 1-888-627-0968.
